DIVIDERE E' MOLTIPLICARE , PERFORMANCE, 2024

As part of OPERA, a  summer exhibition of contemporary art in the historic park of Villa Sciarra

Sunday 19 November 2023, from 11 am to 5 pm.

Curated by Eugenia Querci, in collaboration with Elena Lago.

With the support of Roma Capitale.

Incipit and common thread of this performance of mine take inspiration from a sentence contained in Pier Paolo Pasolini article that appeared in Paese Sera on July 8, 1974.

This is the text you can find in his book Scritti Corsari, that I read at the opening of the performance  and which guides me.

“Men [of the peasant world] did not live a 'golden age ... they lived the age of bread. That means, they were consumers of extremely necessary goods. Something that rendered their lives poor and precarious, but nevertheless necessary. Whereas it is clear that superfluous goods make life superfluous  ”

After a short walk along the paths of the Villa together with the public I reach a clearing where the performance continues its course ending with a choral action.
A textile work remains on display as a testimony of this work.
